1. How should a good photograph express the photographer's intention? How should the photograph express what the photographer's wishes to say, his/her meaning?
The photographer should express his/her intentions by focusing on their moral. The photo should be very easy to understand. For example the photo I have chosen focuses on the girl making her stand out against the dark background. what she is wearing is something very light making her stand out in the whole photo. edit. |
2. how can a good photograph communicate something that words cannot?
A good photograph should be able to communicate something that cannot be explained by words. it can communicate by how the image is composed the lighting and what is in the photo. for example in this photo you cant use words to explain how passionate she looks , we don't know what she's looking at so that makes it more not explainable. |
3. how can a good photograph engage or capture the viewers attention?
I think that a photo that is brightly coloured and well composed will catch the viewers attention. for example here this photo attracted my attention because pf the colour and the composition. most of the page is covered making t look very detailed the unusual patterns on the woman face made me even more interested in the photo because you don't usually see a photograph with a persons face then covered with unusual patterns |
4. can a good photograph make a person feel sympathy or sadness or happiness?
I think that a good photograph can always make a person feel sympathy or sadness or happiness. for example, this picture makes me feel sadness and makes me give sympathy towards the person within the photo because of the facial expression the photographer has captured and they way that the person is maybe holding her head in pain so much emotion within this photo |
5.Do you think that a good photograph is best shown alone or do you think that a photographs should be shown as a collection with others? give reasons for your answer, remember to illustrate with images
I think that a photograph should be shown alone because every photography has its own story so if you put lots of photos within a group it would be confusing. but on the other hand I can understand why people prefer to have photos within a large group because it may make the viewer think of an even bigger story out of all those photos. |
6.Do you think that a good photograph can demand a response form the viewer for sample do you think that it should make the viewer say or think something look at the overleaf for example does this photo make you want to ask questions?
I think that every photo should be given feed back and that every photo should have questions asked about it. for example I have lots of questions about this photograph like : who are they? what are they doing? where are they? |
7. Should a good photograph be well composed and have good lighting? give a visual example with you answer
I think that a good photograph need to have good lighting and has to be composed well because it make things clearer for example here is photograph with good lighting and good composition. you also need good lighting and good composure because it helps brig out the focuses. for example here the focus is clearly on the little girl because the lighting is on the little girl |
what makes a good photograph
I think that a good photograph needs to be planned and well thought out. Think about what kind of story he/she wants behind it . They also need to think about the lighting or the contrast between black and white or the brightness of the photograph. Finally the photographer needs to think about the composition so what they want to be in the photograph and the angle that the photo will be taken from. A good photograph should have some kind of moral or can tell a story in the viewers or photographers eyes. something that leaves you with lots of questions even simple questions like 'what's going on?' ' who are they?' questions can reveal a lot. I also think that a good photograph should have something representing the photographer, even though it would make no sense to the viewers but the photographer should be able to understand what's going on then telling the viewers what's going on so that the viewers can feel what's the photographer feelings. A good photograph should also sometimes capture a moment of importance. If the world didn't have photographs with importance we couldn't be able to remember it in the future we need a visual images that shows how important it was in the past. A good photograph should also have some kind of memory something that you could always look back to and think of all the good/bad time. This is what I think a good photograph should be like
